Lodge Bellavista Kibale Forest National Park Fort Portal is located at the edge of Nyamiteza’s crater lake; it is a crater lake among the 25 craters from Fort Portal leading to Kasese.
Through Google Earth you can see them clearly. Kasunganyanja village, at 40 km from Fort Portal on the road leading to the Queen Elizabeth National Park, is the point where you should turn to your left. Proceed for less than 2 kilometers and you reach Lodge Bella Vista.
Lodge Bellavista Kibale Forest National Park Fort Portal is an Italian themed lodge overlooking Nyamiteza Crater Lake 40 km from Fort Portal and Kasese.
Built and managed by a retired Italian diplomat who has lived in Uganda for over 40 years.
The Lodge is beautifully located in the middle of series of Crater Lakes with an unmatched view of
Mountain Rwenzori and just a 35 minutes drive away from Kibale National Park the home of Chimps, 80 km away from Queen Elizabeth and 40 km from Rwenzori National Park.
Lodge Bellavista, thanks to its location gives the opportunity to visit lake Nyamiteza within the crater lake, a design made by nature over 10 million years ago as well as viewing the majestic Rwenzori Mountains.
It is also possible to swim or to board the canoe that is stationed at Lodge Bella Vista
The most taking aspect of the lodge is its vicinity to the lake within the crater on one side and the view of the Rwenzori Mountain on the opposite side, all this in a complete green environment.
The lodge is along the most important tourist road in Uganda and a stop over to spend a night or for a lunch is quite an opportunity for a tourist moving from the Murchison Falls towards Fort Portal and the National Parks on the south like Kibaale Forest renowned for its Chimpanzees, the Rwenzori National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Lodge Bella Vista has got a 12-bed mixed dormitory that goes at 15$ per day (Bread and Breakfast). There's also a camping site where guests can fix their own tent at 5$ per day.
The lodge has got 10 rooms, three of these have got a loft in wood so that the visitors can sleep on the upper part to admire the unique landscape. The room has got the possibility to host up to four people.
Other 3 rooms have got a dining table and a sitting room offering an independent accommodation and a full level of privacy.
The water supplied to the lodge, located at an altitude of 1.320 meters, descends from the Rwenzori Mountains, also known as the Mountain of the Moon with the highest pick called Margherita at 5.109 meters.

The charges below only apply to 100% advance payment on accommodation. If you only paid the required 1 night deposit, this won’t be refunded.
- 25% if cancelled four days in advance.
- 50% if cancelled two or three days in advance.
- 50% if few of the total booked rooms are cancelled.
- 100% if cancelled one day prior to booking or on the same day.
CANCELLATION POLICY
• Cancellation fees are levied when guests cancel confirmed reservations. The costs of the cancellation fees will escalate the closer the guest/s cancels to their confirmed departure date.
• Should a cancellation be made more than 8 weeks prior to departure, the non-refundable deposit of 20% is forfeited.
• Should a cancellation be made between 4 & 8 weeks prior to departure - 50% cancellation fees apply.
• Should a guest cancel less than 4 weeks or 31 days prior to departure - 100% cancellation fees apply.
In case of any cancellation the tax (VAT) of 18% on the advance will have to be retained as it is to be paid by us to the authorities by the 15th of the next month.
Note:
Any postponement of the booking will be treated as a cancellation and will be governed by the Cancellation Policy.
- Refunds only through cheque for bookings made by cash/cheque/bank transfer.
- Online refunds for bookings made through the online payment system usually take 3-5 working days.
In case of LPO payment is expected within 30 days after which 5% interest applies per week.

Once a reservation is confirmed, please notify us by call or email of any cancellation or modification of the booking at least 3 days (72 hours) before arrival for FIT bookings (free independent travellers) and 2 weeks before arrival for Group bookings in order to avoid a charge of 1 night’s stay to be imposed.
