Mgahinga Gorilla Triangle Lodge Kisoro is a 3 star mid- range accommodation found in Nkanda along Mt. Muhabura Road, Nyarusiza ,Rukongi Musasa Kisoro in the center of Mgahinga National park in Uganda.

The Lodge is situated in the Famous Mountain Ranges of Mgahinga , sabinyo and Muhabura Ranges.

It is the perfect base to go gorilla tracking on the Ugandan side of the Virungas, track the rare golden monkey, climb a volcano, walk through local villages and most of all to share the culture of the Batwa, the oldest inhabitants of the Central African rainforest.

The lodge is situated in the perfect place for gorilla habituation, GOLDEN MONKEY TRACKING and Gorilla tracking in Nyakagezi sector MGAHINGA NATIONAL PARK.

Mgahinga Gorilla Triangle Lodge Kisoro, a comfortable mid range accommodation property is found in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park (MGNP).

It is built on Mt. Muhabura Wing gate in Kisoro District, Southwestern Uganda. This midrange property provides access to 3 scenic hiking trails – Mount Gahinga, Muhabura and Sabyinyo Volcanoes.

Due to its strategic location in Mgahinga NP, guests who retire for a night here stand a chance to embark on a number of thrilling experiences including golden monkey tracking and gorilla trekking.

You can be at the lodge by road transport from Kampala to kisoro taking approximately 8-9 hours’ drive while from Kigali through kyanika borders it takes about 2-3 hours’ drive to the lodge and 2 hours flight from Entebbe international airport to the close kisoro airstrip/ 30 minutes to fly from Kigali international airport then an hour drive to be transferred to the lodge .

Mgahinga Gorilla Triangle Lodge (MGTL) is composed of 10 elegant bedrooms, built overviewing the spectacular Virunga Volcanoes; 11 bathrooms, and accommodates up to 22 pax.

This is an eco-friendly facility, offering that feel of natural environment. The lodge is built using local materials, especially wooden sheds that come with a touch of beautiful volcanic rocks and corrugated iron sheets.

Other amazing amenities that make up MGTL include air conditioning, cable television, Wi-Fi, private yard, balcony, verandas, sitting area, and rooms are fitted with mosquito nets.

Rooms are well decorated , furnished and elevated on a wooden platform with privacy and tranquility where by each room have en suite private facilities that Include; flushing toilets and hot and cold running showers/bathtubs, beds wrapped with mosquito nets ,slippers extinguishers, free toiletries,complimentary bottled water and other facilities.

Gorilla families in Uganda that are habituated (made accustomed to human contact) are 23, and Rushaga boasts 8 of those 23, meaning it has the highest concentration of Gorilla families at 35%. This means trekking from Rushaga sector gives you the highest possible chance of seeing these magnificent creatures.

Gorilla Trekking This is a bucket list item that will leave you changed forever. The tracking experience involves moving on foot in the thick forest and crossing over streams: a brisk hike in pursuit of the elusive gentle giants.

It begins at dawn where you receive a briefing on the day’s activity before venturing into the Impenetrable Forest with your guides. Once the gorillas are located, you get to spend one hour with our closest cousins and this is truly what makes this experience so special.

From seeing the big silverback, to the mothers gently carrying their babies, and the playful young gorilla – the hour spent around a gorilla family is simply unforgettable. There are 23 gorilla families in Uganda that are habituated and trackable, with a maximum of 8 people allowed to track per gorilla family per day.

Gorilla Habituation Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is the only habitat where the gorilla habituation experience can be had in the whole of Africa. Mountain gorilla habituation is the process whereby the gorillas are taken through a period of getting familiar and comfortable with human presence, a process which takes about two years. Tourists can join the conservationists, researchers and rangers in their daily routines for an encounter of the wild mountain gorillas.

The gorilla habituation experience in Bwindi forest should be booked through a tour operator prior and a permit purchased early.
