The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) continues to drive quality improvement in the country’s hospitality sector with a targeted one-day training workshop for hoteliers in Wakiso District.
The training, which took place on Tuesday, 21st April 2026, was held at the prestigious Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa-Kigo.
Directors and Managers from various accommodation establishments were invited to participate in this important capacity-building session.
Focus of the Training
The workshop aimed at enhancing compliance with the East African Community (EAC) Classification Criteria and the Minimum Standards for Accommodation Establishments in Uganda. Key topics covered included:
- Improving overall service standards in hotels and lodges
- Strengthening adherence to national and regional tourism regulations
- Enhancing the quality of hospitality services offered to both local and international visitors
