The deal, signed on 10th June 2026 at State House Entebbe and witnessed by H.E President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, marks one of the largest fleet expansions in the airline’s history and signals East Africa’s growing aviation ambitions.

The order includes:

  • 4 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners (long-haul passenger jets)
  • 4 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft (regional passenger jets)
  • 2 Freighters (one Boeing 767 converted wide-body and one Boeing 737 converted narrow-body)

This expansion is expected to nearly double Uganda Airlines’ current fleet, enabling more direct international flights to Europe, the Middle East, and across Africa, while strengthening cargo operations.

Positive Impact of the Million Boeing Deal on Uganda Tourism

Better air connectivity is excellent news for travellers. Improved flight frequencies and new routes will make it easier and more comfortable for international visitors to reach Entebbe International Airport, Uganda’s main gateway.
