Areas of Interest at the Kas Farm, Uganda

Kas Farm is a dynamic agro-tourism destination located in Kiryankuyege village, Mpigi District. The farm offers a wide range of attractions that blend farming, education, conservation, and leisure.

Edu-Tourism Zone

This focuses on educational experiences for schools, communities, and workshops and includes activities such as;

• Learning about sustainable farming and heritage breeds
• Hands-on training in composting, organic gardening, and animal care
• Herbal medicine cultivation and use

Agri-Tourism Zone

This zone focuses on immersive farm life experiences for example;

• Guided farm tours through coffee, banana, fruit, and vegetable gardens
• Fishing in farm ponds
• Camping in eco-lodges or tents
• Local brewing lessons using traditional methods

Eco-Tourism Zone

This focuses on conservation and sustainability education at the farm. Activities include:

• Recycling and composting demonstrations
• Black Soldier Fly farming for sustainable animal feed
• Community development projects and green initiatives

Livestock & Ornamental Bird Zone

This zone’s main focus is animal interaction and education at the farm for example animals like cattle, goats, rabbits, poultry, and fish and ornamental birds like Silkies, Rouen ducks, and vulturine guineafowl among others.

The activities at the farm include:

• Feeding and caring for animals
• Learning about heritage breeds and their conservation

Farm Fun & Events Zone

Social and recreational experiences

Activities include:

• Team-building events for schools and companies
• Agriculture-themed parties and celebrations
• Seasonal festivals and interactive games

Nature & Relaxation Zone

The purpose of this zone is leisure and scenic enjoyment.

Activities:

• Nature walks and birdwatching
• Photography of landscapes and wildlife
• Relaxing stays in eco-lodges with farm-to-table meals
