The 3DS protocol is an additional security layer for online card transactions. With 3DS enabled, a cardholder receives a One-Time Password (OTP) to verify an online transaction.
What to expect
After inputting the card details on a payment page, user will receive an OTP on their registered phone number or email. With the OTP, they must approve the transaction within the set time limit.
Where this will apply
This feature will only apply on 3DS-enabled payment terminals (websites/ mobile applications) during check out – as configured by the merchant’s bank or Payment Service Provider (PSP).
