Fort Portal Hoteliers Receive Training on Updated EAC Grading and Quality Standards

Fort Portal City, a key gateway to Uganda’s tourism attractions including Kibale National Park and the Rwenzori Mountains, is currently hosting an important capacity-building initiative for the hospitality sector.

The Quality Assurance team is conducting a comprehensive training session for hoteliers focused on the updated East African Community (EAC) grading and classification criteria, together with the quality assurance minimum standards.

This training equips hospitality stakeholders with the latest knowledge and practical tools needed to align their establishments with regional benchmarks.

By meeting these standards, hotels and lodges can strengthen service delivery and enhance their competitiveness within Uganda’s growing tourism sector.

Participants include hotel directors, managers, and staff, as well as other key stakeholders. The inclusive approach reflects a coordinated effort to raise quality assurance and compliance levels across the hospitality industry in Fort Portal City.

Fort Portal’s strategic location makes it an ideal base for visitors exploring nearby national parks, crater lakes, and cultural experiences.

As hotels and accommodation facilities improve their standards through such training, travellers can expect even better service, comfort, and reliability when visiting this vibrant tourism city.

The initiative supports Uganda’s broader goal of delivering world-class hospitality that matches regional expectations while showcasing the unique attractions of Western Uganda.
