Uganda is experiencing a surge in COVID-19 cases in Uganda. Below are the COVID-19 Guidelines for arriving travellers and departing travellers at Entebbe international airport, Uganda;
1) Entebbe International Airport Health team shall approve for arrival or departure travellers a negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) COVID-19 test certificate done within 120 hours from the time of sample collection.
Travellers enroute to EIA must have had a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken 120 hours from the time of sample collection and hold a certificate without which he/she will not be allowed to enter Uganda.
2) Travel from Category 1 countries remains ‘Suspended except for returning Ugandans
3) All arriving passengers from category 1 and 2 countries will be subjected to a PCR COVID-19 test on arrival in Uganda, at traveller’s own cost of USD 65.
I) AFFECTED COUNTRIES INCLUDE.
a) Category 1: India
b) Category 2: United States of America (USA), United Kingdom (UK) ,United Arab Emirates (UAE), Turkey, South Africa, Ethiopia, Kenya, South Sudan and Tanzania.
c) Category 3 – All countries not in Categories 1 & 2. These will not be subjected to PCR test on arrival at Entebbe Airport.
II) VISITORS FROM CATEGORY 2 countries who have received full COVID-19 vaccination and have no sign of COVID-19 will be exempted from polymerase chain reaction (PCR) COVID-19 tests on arrival at Entebbe International Airport.
4) Travelers departing Entebbe International Airport are required to know, understand, and interpret COVID-19 requirement of the country they are travelling to.
Passengers travelling out of Uganda will be required to have an Authentic Valid Negative polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test Certificate and abide by the travel, health and COVID-19 related requirements of the destination Country.
5) Passengers arriving at Entebbe airport in CURFEW TIME (9pm to 5:30am) with a valid air ticket and boarding pass shall be allowed to proceed to their hotels /lodging facility and/or residences.
6) Passengers departing Entebbe international airport in CURFEW TIME (9pm to 5:30am) with a valid air ticket shall be allowed to proceed to their destination airport. Drivers should have evidence that they come from the Entebbe Airport to drop or pick up passengers.
Proof of having paid the airport access parking fees; this is the receipt that shows driver paid the airport parking charges. The receipt must show the date and amount paid including the registration number of the vehicle.

Accommodation
Following the Uganda President Yoweri Museveni’s address on 6 June 2021, hotels and restaurants are open with social distancing measures in place and food delivery services remain operational outside of curfew hours (9pm to 5:30am) though may be impacted by the 6pm restriction on motorbikes and mopeds (motorcycle engine and bicycle pedals).
As of the 6 June, lodges in Uganda may remain open but must close their bar.
