Nestled in the extreme south western corner of Uganda, dotted with 29 islands and overlooked by rolling hills where local farmers grow their crops on steep terraces, Lake Bunyonyi is one of Uganda’s most picturesque locations.
Lake Bunyonyi also offers an excellent option for a little R & R after gorilla trekking in the nearby Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
The name of the lake translates as the ‘place of little birds’ and it is indeed blessed with some 200 bird species including several varieties of weavers that nest by the lakeshore and on the many islands. It is also probably the best place in Uganda to spot otters.
The lake is rumoured to be up to 900 m deep in parts, though this has never been properly confirmed. If true, it would make Lake Bunyonyi the second deepest lake on the continent, with only Lake Tanganyika exceeding it.

In order to confirm a booking / reservation, a deposit worth 50% of the total booking amount is required. The purpose of the advance deposit is to guarantee a reservation. The remaining amount (50 % ) must be paid upon check-out or date of the event.
