ATTRACTIONS IN NWOYA DISTRICT, UGANDA

Murchison Falls National Park:

• Murchison Falls National Park is one of the biggest and oldest Parks in Uganda. It is named after the mighty Murchison Falls, where the Nile squeezes through an 8m wide gorge creating the most powerful water fall in the world.
• The Park offer an array of activities including a boat on the Nile and game drives with a wide variety of fauna including, Giraffes, lions, Heart beasts, elephants, hippos, crocodiles and buffalos among others.
• Murchison Falls National Park is a birders haven with over 400 recorded bird species, Rabongo area is the best spot for lions.

Delight (U) Limited Nwoya Farm:

• This is one of the biggest commercial fruit Farms in the country which is seated on 1700 acres of land in the Northern region (Nwoya District). There are different types of fruits that are grown here including: mangoes, guavas, jackfruits, oranges, lemon, pawpaw and bananas. The farm aims at conserving as many species as possible and at present there are around 550 species grown.
• The most interesting time to visit the farm is around the Harvesting season as all delicious fruits are readily available. The Planting season is slightly discouraged due to heavy rains in that period of the year. The farm has a well aligned forest that covers 430 acres in this area.
• Delight (U) Limited Nwoya Farm is the manufacturer of the CHEERS soft drink and expecting to start a (Mango wine production). More future prospects include a production of Medicinal fruits and opening up a nutritional clinic.

Aswa Falls:

• Aswa Falls is a breathtaking natural wonder located in Gotapwoyo Sub County, Uganda, along Aswa River. Aswa Falls remains relatively undiscovered and untouched by tourism, making it an ideal destination for those seeking an authentic and off-the-beaten-path experience. The falls offer visitors a truly authentic and refreshing experience.
• The falls are spread over along the river and offer visitors a series of stunning cascades and pools to explore. With crystal clear water, lush greenery, and beautiful rock formations, Aswa Falls is truly a hidden gem waiting to be discovered.

HOW TO GET TO NWOYA DISTRICT, UGANDA

By Bus:

• You can take a bus from Kampala to Gulu, which takes about 5-6 hours. From Gulu, you can hire a taxi or take another bus to Nwoya District.

By Car:

• Driving from Kampala to Nwoya is another option. The journey covers approximately 325 kilometers and takes around 5 hours.

By Taxi:

• Hiring a taxi is the fastest way, taking about 5 hours. This option provides more comfort and flexibility compared to buses.

• These motorcycles are a popular and convenient way to navigate the town. They are readily available and can take you to most places quickly.

Taxis:
