With Mbale Town, Uganda already known for its rich cultural heritage and proximity to natural wonders like Sipi Falls and Mount Elgon National Park, the addition of the Mbale Regional Zoo positions the region as a must-visit destination for wildlife enthusiasts and families alike.

The Mbale Regional zoo’s development aligns with a growing global trend where wildlife tourism contributes significantly to local economies. According to a 2023 report by the World Travel & Tourism Council, wildlife tourism in Africa generates over $29 billion annually, supporting millions of livelihoods.

Beyond the zoo, Mbale offers a wealth of experiences for travelers. The region’s cultural tapestry is on display at the Mbale Museum of History and Culture, which chronicles over 200 years of progress in the Mount Elgon area.

Adventure seekers can explore Sipi Falls or embark on a hiking safari in Mount Elgon National Park, while those looking for a more relaxed getaway can enjoy the serene settings of local eco-lodges.
