UGANDA HOTEL OWNERS ASSOCIATION (UHOA) RE-ELECT SUSAN MUHWEZI AS CHAIRPERSON

The Uganda Hotel Owners Association (UHOA) has elected a new board that will serve a two years term (2019-2021). Susan Muhwezi was re-elected by a unanimous vote as chairperson.
The election that took place during the Uganda Hotel Owners’ Association Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Monday 29th of July 2019 at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel, was also graced by Hon Godfrey Kiwanda Ssuubi, the Uganda state minister Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities (MTWA)
Vice chair under the new leadership line-up is Mr. Byamukama Bonifence of Hippo Hill Lodge located in the Queen Elizabeth National Park, while Cephas Birungyi of Cephas Inn (Kabale) and veteran hotelier Twaha Lukwanzi of Tal Cottages retained their posts of general secretary and Treasurer respectively.

Other members on the UHOA Board of Directors are; Hajji Haruna Kibirige, Mrs Yogi Birigwa, Ms Adrine Kobusingye and Amb Mukiibi Ibrahim representing central region. The eastern region will be represented by, Daudi Migereko Jnr, Andrew Atim and Alex Ojambo while the north has Mr. Kasujja Muwanga Kibirige and Mrs Santa Lukone.
The western region will be represented by Ms. Mushabe Dona and Aggrey Twejukye while Ssese Islands has Daniel Mwanje.
Ms. Jean Byamugisha retains her position as executive director.
The Uganda Hotel Owners’ Association (UHOA) is a trade and lobbying organisation that includes almost all of the nation’s hotels, lodges and camps among its members. The hotels owners association was formally registered in May 2000 as UHOA.
