Itinerary
DAY ONE:
Arrival met and transferred to your hotel overnight Serena or Sheraton or Hotel Africana or Bativa Hotel.
DAY TWO:
After breakfast we shall go for Kampala city tour Kampala city ‘the capital city’ of Uganda,
is known as the city of seven hills, we shall visit the Uganda martyrs shrine in Namugongo where many Christian converts were burnt alive by one of the late kings of Buganda. We have a chance to have a brief history of the kingdom and the martyrs then continue to the Uganda Museum after we shall go for lunch at Nandos after lunch, we shall drive to Ndere center for traditional food preparing dinner at the Ndere center overnight at the ndere center or in Kampala.
DAY THREE:
Today we shall go for the Kabaka’s trail with packed lunch from Nandos, this is much more than just sight-seeing, the Trail gives you a chance to learn about the hidden and forgotten history of Buganda, as well as to experience an authentic, traditional culture — with dance, music, craft-making, spiritual healing and storytelling, we shall start with the Buganda royal tombs in Kasubi the tradition burial place for the last four kings of Buganda, here we have a brief history of the kingdom of Buganda and also have a chance to sit in the biggest grass thatched house in the whole world that is still looking good (by UNESCO), here we shall see the back cloth a local fabric made from a local tree. From here we shall transfer to the Kabaka’s lake a manmade lake in the suburbs of Kampala visit the Naggalabi coronation site.
DAY FOUR:
After an early breakfast transfer to Jinja, Visit the Ssezibwa falls that emerge from a twin river, the only place where black water rafting can take place in Africa with its beauty and healing in harmony. After sightseeing we shall continue to Jinja for lunch at the crested crane hotel after lunch visit the source of the longest River “the Nile” here we shall take a motorized canoe to see the spot where the Nile is believed to originate from after drive to Bujagaali falls overnight Jinja Nile resort/Nile Porch/Sunset/Paradise hotel depending on the budget.
DAY FIVE:
After breakfast transfer back to Kumi to view the Nyero Rock paintings widely recognized as some of the finest rock paintings in East Africa, the Nyero Rock paintings in Kumi district are surrounded by intrigue and mystery, were drawn about 400 years ago after drive back to Mbale overnight Mt. Elgon Hotel/Sunrise Inn Mbale.
DAY SIX:
Transfer back to Kampala overnight Serena or Sheraton or Hotel Africana or Holiday Express Inn.
DAY SEVEN:
Transfer to Hoima visit the Nakayima tree a four hundred year old tree enroute, near the Kampala-Fort Portal road, which is thought to contain the spirit of Ndahura, a medieval Bachwezi king. After continue to Hoima overnight Crown hotel.
DAY EIGHT:
Visit the kingdom of the Banyoro and the burial site for the late kings of Banyoro then transfer to Fort portal we will drive southward down the western edge of Uganda, through winding agricultural lands, where villagers and their children will show their friendly nature and wave out and you can glimpse the Ugandan way of rural life. We will enter the crater-lake region located underneath overnight Mountains of the Moon Hotel/ Tooro resort.
DAY NINE:
After an early morning breakfast, drive to Kibaale NP reported to be home to the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in the world. Thirteen (13) different species have been identified here. We shall go for Chimp tracking, here we also have a chance to see a variety of other primates e.g. the Grey-cheeked Mangabeys, Vervet, L’Hoerst and Red tailed Monkeys, Olive Baboons, Red Colobus, Black and white Colobus Monkeys afternoon we shall drive to the Tooro King’s palace for a brief history of the kingdom, we shall visit the burial site for the late kings of Tooro Kingdom after visit the Nyakasura commonly known as the breasts of Nyinamwiru (“Mabeere ga nyinamwiru”) overnight Mountains of the moon hotel / Tooro resort.
DAY TEN:
After breakfast transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP, game drive as you enter the park to your hotel, here we have a chance to view a variety of wildlife overnight Mweya safari lodge.
DAY ELEVEN:
Morning game drive through Kasenyi tracks and Kob mating grounds in search for lions, Elephants, Buffalo, Hyena, Giant Forest Hogs, and other game. There after we shall go for an afternoon boat ride on the Kazinga Channel believed to host the largest concentration of Hippos in Africa, a variety of migrant birds, we may have a chance to see a variety of other animals as they come to the channel for water. Overnight Mweya safari lodge or Jacana or Katara lodge or Hippo pool or at the institute of ecology guest house depending on the budget.
DAY TWELVE:
Transfer to Masaka, overnight Hotel Brovad/ Tropic Inn.
DAY THIRTEEN:
Transfer to Ntusi in Ssembabule district, visit the Ntusi mounds; these are the two man-made mounds which are locally known as Ntusi male and Ntusi female. Although most other features have been disturbed by human habitation, Ntusi village of a 1 km square is another unique example of an island of heavy archaeological depositions of later Iron Age surrounded by a very wide expanse of barren rolling grassland. We shall also visit Bigobyamugenyi Fort which is around 16km away from the mounds, in the traditions, Bigo and Ntusi are related, both being associated with the legendary Bachwezi rulers overnight Rain bow hotel Ssembabule . Here we may visit some schools and the local people and interact with them.
DAY FOURTEEN:
Transfer back to Kampala, stopover at the equator for coffee or tea after we shall continue and stop over at Mpambire drum makers to see the process of drum making after continue to Kampala; depending on your flight time we may visit the markets like Nakasero, crafts markets at the national theatre and Buganda Road shopping for souvenirs after transfer back to airport for your flight, end of services.
