Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Kampala - Kisoro - Mgahinga Gorilla National Park 

Your journey begins with a departure from Kampala (or Entebbe).

As you head southwest, the flat savannah transforms into the rolling "Little Switzerland" of Kigezi.

We’ll stop at the Equator for photos before continuing to Kisoro.

Overnight stay at Luxury Lodge in the park or a cozy boutique hotel in Kisoro.

Travel Time: Approx. 8–9 hours.

Day 2: Gorilla or Golden Monkey Tracking

Today is the headline event. After a briefing at the Ntebeko visitor center, you have two incredible options:

Option A: Gorilla Trekking. Follow the trackers into the dense forest to spend one hour with the Nyakagezi gorilla group.

Option B: Golden Monkey Trekking. Search for these energetic, endemic primates in the bamboo forests.

Relax by the fireplace and soak in the views of the Virunga chain in the evening.

Day 3: Batwa Cultural Trail

Step back in time with the Batwa forest people. This isn't just a walk; it’s a living museum.

Activities: Learn how to make fire from sticks, identify medicinal herbs, and hunt with traditional bows.

Grand Finale: A hauntingly beautiful performance inside Garama Cave, once the Batwa king's residence.

Day 4: Summiting the Virungas (Optional Volcano Climb)

For the adventurous, today is about altitude. Choose your challenge:

Mt. Sabinyo: Stand in three countries (Uganda, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo) simultaneously at the summit.

Mt. Gahinga: A gentler climb through a beautiful swamp-filled crater.

Mt. Muhavura: The "Guide"—the toughest climb with the most rewarding views of Lake Edward and the peaks.

Day 5: Lake Bunyonyi - Lake Mburo - Kampala

We bid the mountains farewell and head to Lake Bunyonyi.

Enjoy a traditional lunch overlooking the 29 islands of the Lake Bunyonyi.

In the afternoon, we continue to Lake Mburo for a wildlife stopover or proceed back to Kampala or Entebbe.

7. Bottled drinking water while on safari

Exclusions:

1. Entry permit/visas for Uganda if required.
2. Airfare to and from Uganda and/or domestic airfare
3. First and last night’s accommodation in Kampala or Entebbe
4. Meals (if taking the budget option)
5. All drinks apart from those served for breakfast
6. Beverages, tips, souvenirs & all items of a personal nature
7. Any deviation from the suggested program
8. Tips and gratuities
9. Souvenirs and items of a personal nature like telephone calls
10. Any activity or accommodation NOT mentioned in the itinerary
11. Porters and other luggage service
