Fourteen gorilla groups live in different sectors: Buhoma, Ruhijja, Rushaga, and Nkuringo. It is also home to other mammal species including colobus monkeys, chimpanzees among others and bird species for example hornbills and turacos.
Gorilla trekking is a major attraction, allowing visitors to observe these gentle giants in their natural habitat. The park also offers birdwatching, nature walks, and cultural experiences.
