full-day Kampala City Tour. The tours will cover the following remarkable sites of Kampala including;
Namugongo Martyrs Shrine
This is where 22 Catholic young men/martyrs were officially burnt to ashes around 3 June 1886 after rebelling against Kabaka Mwanga.
Baha'i Temple and beautiful gardens
The Mashriqu'l-Adhkar is situated on 8.5 hectares (21.5 acres) of land on Kikaya Hill on the outskirts of Kampala, Uganda.
The Uganda Museum
The Uganda Museum is a museum in Kampala, Uganda, which displays and exhibits ethnological natural - historical and traditional life collections of Uganda's cultural heritage. The museum was founded in 1908, after Governor Wilson called for "all articles of interest" on Uganda to be procured.
Makerere University
The administrative building for East Africa's oldest university (established 1922). Constructed with funding from the Colonial Development Fund, the building was designed to partly resemble the Senate Building at the University of London, to which Makerere College was then affiliated.
Rubaga Cathedral
Saint Mary's Cathedral Rubaga, commonly referred to as Rubaga Cathedral, is the parent cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Kampala, the oldest Roman Catholic diocese in Uganda.
Namirembe Cathedral
Saint Paul's Cathedral Namirembe, commonly referred to as Namirembe Cathedral, is the oldest cathedral in Uganda. It serves as the provincial cathedral of the Church of Uganda and the diocesan cathedral for Namirembe Diocese, the first diocese to be founded in the Church of Uganda province, in 1890.
Kabaka’s Lake
This is the largest man-made lake in Uganda located in Ndeeba, Rubaga Division Kampala City, Uganda. It was constructed by the 52 clans of Buganda from 1885 - 1888 during the reign of Ssekabaka Mwanga 11. The plan of the king was to construct a channel wide enough for him to travel by boat to Lake Victoria for swimming and fishing. Kabaka’s Palace in Mengo and Buganda Kingdom Parliament - The administration block of Mengo famously known as Bulange where the Buganda kingdom headquarters are located.
Gadaffi Mosque
Gaddafi Mosque, also known as Uganda National Mosque is the largest mosque in East Africa located about 2km from the city centre and National Theatre.
Owino Market tour
In the afternoon, enjoy guided shopping in various craft markets or shops within the Kampala City. Time permitting, you will have the unique opportunity to be taken on a short tour of the Owino Market - a large open air market in the commercial centre of Kampala, has everything from traditional medicines to tvs, farm produce.
It’s most famous for its second-hand clothing, but you can also buy some material and let one of the army of tailors sew you something new.
This trip can be modified to fit your special areas of interest.
The arrangement and flow of the trip will be dependent on the traffic flow.
The tour will end by 6:00 pm.
