Kaynela Farms Ltd, located in Kayunga District, Uganda, was established in 2016 by Faizo Rashid Serunjogi and his wife, Peace Kayesu. Initially, the Kaynela Farms started with a modest 20 acres of land, primarily focusing on banana and pineapple cultivation.
The Kaynela Farms founders’ vision extended beyond traditional farming, aiming to create a sustainable and educational agro-tourism destination.
Serenbe Farms uses sustainable practices to grow and harvest more than 300 varieties of heirloom and hybrid vegetables, herbs and flowers.

Kaynela Farms School Tours are offered on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 10am and 3pm. Pricing is $12 per person for a 60 minute tour and $18 per person for a 90 minute tour (60 minute tour plus 30 minute hands-on farming activity). The hands on (age appropriate) activity may include but is not limited to one of the following: harvesting, seeding and weeding. We can accommodate groups up to 80 students. Walk the fields while learning about the principles of organic farming, pest and disease control, composting, cover cropping, crop rotation and the importance of eating locally-grown produce.
