Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary Day Tour, Uganda
ZIWA RHINO SANCTUARY TOUR, UGANDA - CENTRAL REGION
Enjoy a day trip to the only Rhino Sanctuary in Uganda, where you spend a wonderful day at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary with the Rhinos.
Opened up in 1998, about 30 years after poachers shot the Uganda’s last wild rhino in Murchison in 1983, the Rhino fund aims at re introducing black and white Rhinos in to Uganda’s protected areas (Murchison Falls, Kidepo Valley National Park) as well as educating the local communities on endangered Rhinos, poaching and environmental conservation. The private 70-sqkm reserve, is situated 170km northwest of Kampala, offers an exciting view of the true wildlife of Southern Africa, with the ever-present opportunity to see these magnificent beasts in their natural habitat. There are now 15 southern white rhinos roaming the savannah and wetland, nine of which were born in the wild in Uganda.
