Begin your sightseeing journey at the Namugongo Uganda Martyrs Shrine, Uganda's most important Christian pilgrimage site and one of Africa's leading religious tourism destinations.

Here, you'll discover the remarkable story of the 22 Catholic Martyrs and 23 Anglican Martyrs who were executed between 1885 and 1887 during the reign of Kabaka Mwanga II after refusing to renounce their Christian faith.
