UGANDA AIRLINES LAUNCH DIRECT FLIGHTS BETWEEN ENTEBBE AIRPORT TO REGIONAL ROUTES; BUJUMBURA, DAR ES SALAAM, JUBA, KILIMANJARO, MOGADISHU, MOMBASA AND SOMALIA.
Uganda’s revived flag carrier, Uganda Airlines, launched commercial operations with its first flight out of Entebbe international airport (Uganda’s national airport) to Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International (JKIA) airport on 25th August of 2019. Uganda Airlines which was established in 1977, ceased operations in 2001.
According to Uganda airlines Facebook Page post, the airline flight schedules shared by the the Uganda national airline Uganda airline will offer the most convenient scheduled flights flying from Entebbe International for the regional destinations.
Uganda airline will operate Nairobi direct from Entebbe with twice daily flights, Uganda airlines will fly to Tanzania’s Kilimanjaro airport with 3x weekly flights and only 1x daily flight from Entebbe to Dar Es Salaam the national capital of Tanzania
Other routes operated by the airline include; Uganda airline flying direct from Entebbe to Mogadishu in Somalia 4x weekly and the airline will fly direct from Entebbe to Bujumbura, Burundi capital 3x weekly and Juba in South Sudan will be served 2x daily flights from Entebbe.
Uganda airline will operate on the routes from Entebbe by four Bombardier CRJ 900s aircraft, two of which arrived in Uganda on 24th April
According to Uganda minister of Works and Transport Hon Monica Azuba Ntege, while addressing delegates at the Uganda 15th Joint Transport Sector conference in Kampala, announced that Uganda Airlines will on 13th of September start flying the remaining 3 routes of Bujumbura, Kilimanjaro and Mombasa, where Uganda airline will operate 3x weekly flights from Entebbe to Kenyan coastal town of Mombasa.
