Uganda Airlines took delivery of the first of 2 brand-new Airbus A330-800 neo. The aircraft captained by Capt. Michael Etyang touched down at Entebbbe International Airport, Uganda’s main airport located 40km south of the capital Kampala on 22 December 2020, at 10:30 local time to a water salute.

The latest airbus press release on their website states that this generation of airbus is considered the ideal aircraft to operate as part of the COVID-19 recovery.
The new aircraft adds to the earlier fleet of 4 CRJ 900 the first of which was delivered in April 2019. The second Airbus A330-800 neo is expected in January 2021.
Uganda Arlines currently operates direct flights from its hub in Entebbe near Entebbe Town to and from Nairobi, Mombasa, Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, Juba, Bujumbura, and Mogadishu, with Kinshasha in D.R.C the latest destination.
The Uganda state-run aircraft on receiving the first Airbus 330-800 announced that Uganda airlines will launch long haul flight connections from Entebbe to DUBAI, LONDON, GUANGZHOU, MUMBAI boosting tourism from East Africa to the World.
