From January 9-11, 2025, Uganda will host the African Union Extraordinary Summit on CAADP at the Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort and Conference Centre, Kampala. This is a testament to our growing stature as a leading destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) in Africa!

With top leaders and stakeholders from across the continent convening here, this event not only highlights Uganda’s commitment to advancing agricultural transformation but also showcases our ability to host high-profile international gatherings.

The CAADP operates through 10-year strategies, starting in Maputo in 2003 and Malabo in 2014 for the period 2015 – 2025. The third strategy will be launched at the upcoming Summit in Kampala, Uganda.

In November 2023, Uganda represented by the Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries was elected to chair the African Union Specialized Technical Committee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Water and Environment (STC-ARDWE)

Uganda, as Chair (that is, up to November 2025), will oversee the development of the CAADP Strategy 2026-35 & the Kampala CAADP Declaration, set to be adopted at the AU Extra-Ordinary Summit in Kampala, Jan 9-11, 2025
