Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) announced the temporary closure of Kazinga Channel Bridge at Katungura along the Kasese-Katunguru-Ishaka Road for emergency rehabilitation works, in June this year,
To prevent motorists from battling congestion, detours and frustrations as they use the busy Kazinga channel bridge that connects Queen Elizabeth national park, Kasese Town and other surrounding towns and wildlife parks, UNRA introduced free ferry services to help motorists and pedestrians crossing the Kazinga channel, since June
Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) Informs the general public and the users of the temporary ferry at Katunguru (Kazinga Channel} along the Hima – Katunguru – lshaka road that the ferry has experienced a technical glitch
Therefore Its operations will be closed from 26 August 2021 to 27 August 2021 to undertake interventions/repairs required to enhance the safety of the terry operations.
In the meantime, the rehabillta1on works of the Kazinga Channel Bridge at Katunguru are progressing well and expected to be completed by 30 September 2021 and there after the bridge will be opened to traffic.
