Uganda: Uganda Wildlife Authority Extends Tourism Promotion Discount till June 30

Ahead of the 2020 festive holiday season, the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA)  announced a reduction in entrance fees for savannah national parks, ape and primate tracking permits and activity fees to encourage visitors tour the wildlife conservation areas. Uganda Gorilla trekking permits and chimpanzee tracking permits among other promotional tariffs reduced for the period 01 December 2020 till 01 March 2021.

The reduction on Uganda gorilla tracking permits and other Uganda national park and activity fees were introduced in order to encourage the recovery of the East African country’s tourism industry, which was largely shuttered by COVID-19

News from the state-run conservation and tourism agency indicates they have extended the tourism promotion price discount until the month of June 2021.

Uganda Wildlife Authority said in a statement published on their website “Our visitors are at the heart of UWA conservation efforts and we are glad to be able to reward them for their continued support throughout the years and more especially through this period of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A visitor from Israel planning a Uganda trip in 2021 shared the following message on his Facebook account Timeline
“Why am I planning a trip to Uganda (again)?
Well – it looks like the travel restrictions in place at the moment will very soon be lifted, or at leat eased. Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) is offering a massive 50% discount on all park entrance fees and activity costs (yes – that includes Gorilla trekking), until the end of June. I find that irresistible!
So – if all goes to plan (which is a big if these days) – I will be in Uganda for the whole month of June.
My (very flexible) plan is to hang out and bird mainly in the western part, in and around Queen Elizabeth, Semuliki, Kibale and Bwindi National Parks.
On my own or with various others who might like to join me for some of the time.” David Yekutiel
