Flights from Entebbe (EBB) to Dubai on Uganda Airlines now
Uganda Airlines, Uganda main flag carrier began its maiden long-haul flights with the launch of Dubai flights from/from Entebbe (EBB) on 04th October 2021.
Entebbe Airport establishes a three times weekly link to the business and holiday center of Persian Gulf coast of the United Arab Emirate.
Uganda airline now serving 10 African destinations and one international destination from the main hub at Entebbe International Airport including Dubai flights (United Arab Emirates) Nairobi flights (Kenya), Dar es Salaam flights (Tanzania), Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of Congo – DRC), Juba (South Sudan), Mogadishu (Somalia), Bujumbura (Burundi) , Tanzania island town of Zanzibar, Kenya’s coastal town of Mombasa and Kilimanjaro (Tanzania).
With the issuance of its operating license and Air Operator Certificate (AOC) by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) on 23 August, 2021, the young national airline Uganda Airlines had successfully completed the protracted 5-phased certification process that saw the carrier’s pair of A330s grounded in Entebbe international airport.
Uganda airlines now can switch between the CRJ-900 and the higher capacity A330 on services, depending on passenger and cargo demand.
Uganda Airlines A330s will be used on long haul services to Dubai, London, Mumbai, and Guangzhou.
Uganda joined over 190 countries and international organizations to participate in Expo 2020 Dubai UAE
The Republic of Uganda is participating at the 2020 Expo Dubai United Arab Emirates (UAE) on invitation by the organizer – the Government of United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the International Bureau of Expositions.
The theme of the Expo 2020 Dubai UAE is “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future” with three (3) sub-themes of “Mobility”, “Opportunity” and “Sustainability.” Uganda is participating under the “Opportunity” sub-theme.
According to Hon. John Mulimba, Uganda Minister Of State for Foreign Affairs/Regional Affairs, Uganda’s objectives for participation in 2020 Expo Dubai UAE include;
“To promote trade between Uganda and the greater Middle East market which had a total import bill of US$ 1.889 billion in 2020, initially targeting; United Arab Emirates; Saudi Arabia; Turkey; Qatar and Oman.”
The Dubai Expo 2020 runs from 1st October 2021 to 31st March 2022 in the United Arab Emirates, twelve (12) months from the scheduled date due to COVID 19 pandemic.
Republic of the Uganda reopened its borders and airports for international visitors in October 2020. In order to visit Uganda, travelers will be required to do a health screening and follow COVID-19 safety protocols.
All visitors are required to complete a negative COVID-19 test within a maximum of 72 hours prior to arrival and submit the test results within 2 days of departure for Uganda. All arriving passengers will be required to undergo body temperature scans and may be requested to take another COVID-19 test.
Airlines of both countries Uganda and United Arab Emirates can now carry out three flights per week from Entebbe to Dubai and five times per week from Dubai to Entebbe
