UCAA Ramadan Iftar Dinner 2026: Entebbe Flight Updates & Disruptions to UAE & Qatar | What Uganda Travelers Need to Know

The Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) brought together Muslim aviation stakeholders on Friday, 6th March 2026, for its annual Iftar dinner at the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) Head Office in Kampala.

The heartfelt gathering celebrated the holy month of Ramadan while delivering vital Entebbe flight updates to the travel community.

Director General Mr. Fred K. Bamwesigye used the occasion to highlight core Ramadan values, unity, discipline, empathy and service, values he noted are equally vital for safe aviation operations.

The evening also served as a platform to address the ongoing Middle East airspace situation that has affected international travel to and from Entebbe International Airport.

Current Status of United Arab Emirates & Qatar Routes

Since Saturday, 28th February 2026, several direct flights between Entebbe and key Middle East hubs (Dubai, Sharjah and Doha) were disrupted due to regional developments. Airlines impacted include:

  • Qatar Airways
  • Emirates
  • Flydubai
  • Air Arabia
  • Uganda Airlines

Partial resumptions of some of the airlines’ operations have already begun.

  • Air Arabia has resumed flights to Sharjah.
  • Flydubai restarted morning services to Dubai yesterday and is maintaining the morning schedule (evening flights pending).
  • Flynas continues normal operations to Riyadh.

Qatar Airways, Emirates and Uganda Airlines flights to Dubai remain suspended for now. Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) advises all passengers to stay in direct contact with their airline for real-time updates and to check flight status before heading to Entebbe Airport.

Why This Matters for Uganda Tourists

For visitors planning trips to Uganda, these Entebbe flight updates are crucial if your itinerary involves connections via Dubai or Doha.

Domestic flights, road transfers and tourism activities inside Uganda continue without interruption. Entebbe Internatinal Airport remains fully operational for arrivals and departures not affected by the Middle East situation.
