The Uganda Embassy in Berlin, together with the Uganda Tourism Board, successfully hosted the Uganda-Germany Tourism Roadshow in Düsseldorf on 23rd June 2026.
The high-energy event aimed to strengthen tourism ties between the two nations and position Uganda as a premium destination for German travellers seeking authentic, nature-rich experiences.

Attendees, including German tour operators, travel agents, and tourism stakeholders, enjoyed presentations showcasing Uganda’s world-famous attractions: endangered mountain gorillas, diverse wildlife, stunning scenic landscapes, and vibrant cultural heritage.
The roadshow featured lively traditional dance performances, networking sessions, and in-depth discussions on destination marketing and sustainable tourism development.
This event served as the perfect warm-up for the 1st Uganda Cultural and Tourism Festival taking place in Munich from 26th to 28th June 2026.
Speaking on behalf of Ambassador Stephen Mubiru, Ms. Jessica Namuddu emphasised the strong bilateral relations between Uganda and Germany while highlighting opportunities for deeper partnerships in responsible travel.

The Diaspora Unit also played a key role, reminding Ugandans living abroad of their potential to promote tourism, trade, and investment back home.
Participants left with renewed excitement and concrete strategies to increase German visitor numbers to Uganda.
Why this matters for travellers
Germany remains one of Europe’s most important outbound tourism markets. Events like this roadshow make it easier for German-speaking travellers to discover Uganda’s unique offerings – from gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to cultural encounters and eco-lodges that support local communities.
