Itanda Falls

Located in Jinja—Uganda’s adventure capital—the Itanda Falls are rapids on the White Nile River, popular for both whitewater rafting and high-level kayaking. It is an alternative to the more popular and powerful Murchison Falls, and Bugjagali Falls, which has become submerged due to dam construction.

Marvel at the roaring volume and power of the Nile at this sacred site, where locals come to pray for miracles. There aren’t any facilities at the falls, so come prepared with supplies. Otherwise, sign up for a safari or adventure tour that will take you to the falls from Jinja, and typically includes rafting equipment, meals and entry

Source of the Nile - Speke Monument- Historic Site
The authentic, original Source of the Nile Site, where the British Explorer Speke first discovered the River Nile (of course the Africans knew there was a river, but anyway..). Stand where he stood, take a picture with the monument, go for boatrides across the river nile and into Lake Victoria, see monkeys, monitor lizards, pythons (and maybe even an authentic African Witchdoctor). The site also allows for camping, nature walks, parties and occasions with a truly spectacular nature setting. Ideal for Birdwatching and anyone looking for 1 day tour in the Ugandan Countryside.

Bujagali Falls
Bujagali Falls used to be a very popular site to see raids and waterfalls on the Nile.
Unfortunately a dam constructed down stream has raised the level of the water to cover the falls.
However there is an option to take boat tour for about 2 hours to travel a few Km up the river to the base of the Owens falls Dam where there are still some rapids.

Source of Nile River
This source of the Nile River from Lake Victoria in Uganda is a must see when you are in Uganda. It is close to the town of Jinja and is a beautiful piece .

Busowoko Waterfalls - Waterfalls
The waterfalls lie in Nawampanda village about 25km from the Source of the Nile in Jinja district.

Jinja Farmers Market is open every Saturday from 8.30am to 1.30pm in Jinja, Uganda. A great place to shop for excellent quality vegetables, fruits, baked goods, coffees, locally made crafts, and other products. A relaxing environment with a kids play area, lots of places to sit with friends, secure parking, surrounded by Jinja town's best tree and plant nursery.
