Uganda national flag carrier, Uganda Airlines will resume flights from its main hub in Entebbe, ending of the lock-down and its opening for leisure travelers to the East African country as Thursday 01st October 2020.
These resumptions follow a decision by the Government of Uganda to reopen Entebbe International Airport (the country’s main airport) to scheduled commercial flight operations from October 01, 2020. Entebbe International Airport is the hub for the Uganda national carrier.
Uganda Airline will resume services with four destinations in the month of October 2020 namely Nairobi in Kenya, Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, Juba in South Sudan and Mogadishu the capital of Somalia. Other previously served destinations served by Uganda airline like Bujumbura in Burundi, Tanzania’s Kilimanjaro airport, the East Africa beach holiday destinations of Mombasa on Kenya Coast and Tanzania’s island of Zanzibar will be added later.
“Our plans for the Africa network expansion will continue and we plan to launch scheduled operations to Johannesburg, Kinshasa, Harare and Lusaka in the coming months” the Uganda Airlines media release said.
“Uganda Airlines commits to keeping passengers safe and healthy, through strict adherence to approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and compliance with national and international guidelines for safe air travel in light of COVID-19.”
