In a vibrant push to boost tourism from North America, the Uganda High Commission in Ottawa has launched a fully branded double-decker bus showcasing the country’s breathtaking wildlife, landscapes, and adventure offerings.
The eye-catching bus, wrapped with stunning imagery of mountain gorillas, lions, shoebill storks, and the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains, will operate on popular Gray Line Ottawa routes including stops near Parliament Hill and ByWard Market from June through October 2026.
Organizers expect the campaign to generate between 1 and 2 million impressions among Canadian long-haul travelers.
Star-Studded Launch Event
The official launch took place on June 1st, 2026, at the Infinity Convention Centre.
Guests enjoyed traditional Ugandan dances, sampled authentic street food such as the famous Ugandan Rolex, and participated in a festive ribbon-cutting ceremony complete with confetti and celebrations.
Charge d’Affaires of the Uganda High Commission addressed the audience, highlighting the strong bilateral ties between Uganda and Canada and inviting Canadians to experience the “Pearl of Africa.”
