Uganda’s rich birdlife takes centre stage this October with Run 4 Birds Kampala 2026, an awareness and fundraising run organised by Avian Conservation Uganda.
On 18th October 2026 at Sheraton Gardens Kampala, participants will take to the paths under the powerful theme “Every Step Saves a Crane,” highlighting the urgent need to protect Uganda’s national bird, the Grey Crowned Crane, and the country’s extraordinary avian diversity of more than 1,090 species.
Avian Conservation Uganda, a youth-led nonprofit dedicated to safeguarding Uganda’s birds and habitats, is calling on individuals, companies and organisations to get involved in the 2026 Run 4 Birds event.
Runners can secure a complete kit including a T-shirt, backpack and water bottle for 0nly UGX 35,000.
Sponsorship packages are also available: Bronze at UGX 2 million, Silver at UGX 5 million and Gold at UGX 10 million.
All proceeds support bird monitoring, habitat protection, community education and nationwide awareness campaigns in Uganda.
The 2026 Run 4 Birds event builds on the success of the inaugural 2025 Run for Birds, which drew hundreds of participants around the Sheraton Kampala Hotel and Nakasero area and helped raise the profile of bird conservation across Uganda.
