Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport

When you arrive at the airport, you will be met by our driver who will drive you to your accommodation. Depending on your flight arrival time, you can visit the nearby botanical gardens. Here you can expect to see colobus monkeys, black and white vervet monkeys and many species of birds, plants and flowers. Or you can just choose to relax by the shores of Lake Victoria.

Day 2: Entebbe – Bwindi/Mgahinga

Very early in the morning we depart Entebbe for a long journey towards the western part of Uganda. It is a full day’s drive, but via a scenic route. On the way we will pass the equator where we will stop for photos and shopping. We will have lunch in the calm town of Mbarara before continuing our drive through the verdant countryside. You will pass traditional homesteads and have panoramic views of the surroundings.

Day 3: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park/Mgahinga

The highlight of your safari is the gorilla trekking, a meeting with the gentle giants of Bwindi/Mgahinga! Hikers and nature lovers will very much enjoy this trek through the beautiful ecosystem of the park. Depending on the location of the gorillas, it is difficult to anticipate how long the hike will be. You should be prepared for it to take anywhere between two to eight hours. Also be prepared for some steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas.

But it will definitely be a worthwhile journey when you get to see them up close, eating, playing and resting. Don’t forget your camera for what will be a unique and unforgettable experience! For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour. Before the trek, you will be briefed by your ranger guide on how to behave near these giant apes.

Depending on the time, we will either spend the night here or depart for Lake Bunyonyi. This will shorten the drive to Entebbe the following day. Optional activities here include canoeing, boat cruises to visit different islands, the Batwa experience or swimming.

Please note: Gorilla tracking requires a permit from the Uganda Wildlife Authority which we will incorporate into the cost of your Safari. The permit cost is USD800 per person. This price is fixed by the Ugandan government. The minimum age for tracking is 15 years.

Day 4: Lake Bunyonyi To Entebbe

After breakfast we’ll depart Lake Bunyonyi for Entebbe with lunch stop in Mbarara and a coffee break at the Equator. We’ll arrive in Entebbe in the evening where you will be dropped off either at your accommodation or the airport.
