Uganda is actively positioning itself as a premier regional destination. The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), in partnership with the Embassy of Uganda in Kinshasa and Ugandan businesses, recently participated in the 12th edition of ExpoBéton RDC (République Démocratique du Congo) in Kinshasa from 7th to 10th October 2026.
Held under the theme “Kinshasa, Locomotive of the Transformation of DRC Cities,” the event brought together stakeholders focused on urban development, infrastructure, and economic growth across the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

For Uganda, the event served as a strategic platform for conferences, Business 2 Business (B2B) meetings, and exhibitions aimed at strengthening bilateral economic ties and exploring new market opportunities.
The Uganda stand, branded “Explore Uganda – The Pearl of Africa,” featured striking wildlife imagery, traditional cultural elements, and interactive spaces.
Team members engaged visitors to showcase Uganda’s natural attractions, cultural richness, and investment potential in the tourism sector.
The presence highlighted opportunities to increase travel between Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) while attracting investment into sustainable tourism experiences.
This participation aligns closely with responsible tourism principles. By fostering regional partnerships, Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) is helping create more seamless, mutually beneficial travel corridors that support local communities, protect natural heritage, and encourage high-quality visitor experiences on both sides of the border.

Travelers interested in gorilla trekking, wildlife safaris, cultural immersion, and community-based tourism stand to benefit from stronger connections and increased awareness of Uganda as a safe, rewarding East African tourism destination.
ExpoBéton RDC (République Démocratique du Congo), typically focused on construction and urban transformation, provided an unexpected yet valuable venue for tourism promotion.
The event allowed Uganda to reach decision-makers, investors, and regional partners who may influence infrastructure development, connectivity, and business travel that indirectly support leisure and responsible tourism growth in the country.
As regional integration advances, initiatives like this help position Uganda not only as a classic safari destination but also as a key player in East and Central African travel networks.

Visitors seeking authentic, low-impact experiences will find more reasons to explore the Pearl of Africa and combine journeys with neighboring countries including Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania among others.
